General info :
Max Entertainment, Inc. was a company owning the music label Nervous Records between 1991 and 1994. From 1992 to 1994 it also owned the music label Sam Records.
It was also the trademark owner of the music labels Wreck, Weeded Records, Wreck Records, and Sorted Trance.
The company was created by Mike Weiss on June 09, 1989 in New York as Win Records, Inc. before changing its name in 1991 to Max Entertainment, Inc.
In 1994 the name was changed again to Nervous, Inc. a company still running the Nervous Records label.
When Nervous started back in 1991, their focus was East Coast house music. There were a couple other hot NYC labels like Strictly Rhythm, Nugroove, Emotive and Maxi at the time.
The mid-90’s was the golden time for hip hop in NYC. With a combination of skill and luck, they discovered Funkmaster Flex and signed him before he started spinning on Hot 97 and became a world famous hip hop DJ.
Noted for early productions by notables including Armand Van Helden, Mood II Swing, Masters At Work and Josh Wink.
With its hip hop division Wreck Records, the label released a string of albums that are considered essential additions to any comprehensive hip hop collection. These include Black Moon "Enta Da Stage," Smif-n-Wessun "Dah Shinin'" and Mad Lion "Real Ting."

Currently Nervous is still actively releasing several house and techno releases on a weekly basis. The label also is involved in producing some of the biggest nightclub events with artists including Oscar G, Chus+ Ceballos and DJ Boris.

Mike Weiss is co-founder along with his father, Sam Weiss, who himself was a founder of noted 1970s–1980s disco record label, SAM Records.
Mike Weiss graduated from Stanford University in 1983 with a degree in economics, and from Syracuse University School of Law with a JD in 1986, and from Syracuse University Newhouse School of Communications with an MFA in 1986
