Todd Thaler (born May 2, 1957 in Brooklyn, New York, United States) is an American casting director.
He began his career in 1986 as a Production Assistant at Rollins & Joffe, a production/management company known for producing the films of Woody Allen, and managing clients like Robin Williams, David Letterman and Billy Crystal. It was there he was given the responsibility of casting extras while simultaneously establishing his own casting company working on such films as Luc Besson’s The Professional and Sidney Lumet’s Running on Empty.
Other notable credits: Ed Harris’ directorial debut Pollock, Stacy Cochran’s My New Gun, Boys, Drop Back Ten and Write When You Get Work, John Turturro’s Mac, Illuminata, Romance & Cigarettes, Fading Gigolo and Going Places, Wayne Wang’s Because of Winn-Dixie and Maid in Manhattan, and Todd Field’s Little Children.

He has cast several projects for television including the Joe Roth/Ice Cube-produced Are We There Yet? for TBS, and NBC’s comedy series Ed, for which he was nominated for the Television Academy of Arts and Science’s Emmy Award.

Todd was proudly active in the successful effort to unionize Casting Directors with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. Over the years he has taught countless audition technique workshops, as well as on-set and private coaching.
He teaches at the Atlantic Theater School, Stella Adler School of Acting, NYU/Tisch, and Brooklyn College.
