Beatriz Schiller (born in Brazil) is an independent professional photographer, journalist and visual artist.
She came to New York City in 1970 where she still lives and works, becoming a United States citizen in 1982.
Clients included Vogue Paris during the 1980s, The New York Times, Der Spiegel, Jornal do Brasil, Time, Newsweek, Art in America, Opera News and Dance Magazine.
She was the New York Correspondent for Jornal do Brasil from 1971 to 1982.
She has photographed and/or interviewed, among others, Marguerite Yourcenar, John Cage, Pina Bausch, Robert Wilson, Steve Reich, Virgil Thompson, Robert Rauschenberg, Luciano Pavarotti, Rudolf Nureyev, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Mark Morris, Trisha Brown, Werner Herzog and Joseph Beuys.
Her photographs have been exhibited at MoMA New York, MAM Rio de Janeiro, Walker Art Center, Lincoln Center, New York Public Library, Metropolitan Opera, BAM, and La Mamma.
Beatriz studied Art History, Criticism at the Jacobina, Sacred Heart, Imaculada Conceição, Ecole du Louvre and at the New School in New York.
She resides in New York, New York, United States.
