Carlton International Media was the largest owner of British made films in the world with a catalogue of over 18,000 hours of programming through The Carlton Film Collection and the Carlton International Programme Catalogue.
The formation of the Carlton International Media Group has brought together the media rights management and licensing divisions, and the USA television movie and acquisition overseas production arm of Carlton Communications. Centred on the assets within Carlton International Media, the Group covers the ownership and management of film and programme libraries, international and domestic programme sales, programme investment, consumer products licensing, the Hollywood-based Carlton America TV division, and the company’s consumer video and publishing divisions.

Carlton International Media Ltd. was a subsidiary of Carlton Communications, a British media company, led by Michael Green and listed on the London Stock Exchange from 1983 until February 2, 2004, when it was bought by Granada plc in a corporate takeover to form ITV plc.
