Valerie J. Fletcher is an author and curator.
She was curator of Sculpture at the Smithsonian's Hirshhorn Museum and recently retired from the Hirshhorn, now working part-time as free-lance curator and art historian.
Select credits include A Garden for Art: Outdoor Sculpture at the Hirshhorn Museum (1998), Alberto Giacometti, 1901-1966 (1988), Crosscurrents Of Modernism (1992).
She resides in Washington, District Of Columbia.
Recent work includes her contribution to 'Giacometti' a 2018 publication dedicated to the exposition held in the Solomon R. Guggenheim museum.
Valerie is an 1978 alumna of the Columbia University, New York where she earned a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree + M.Phil. + Ph.D. in Modern Art history.
