General info :
Gerd Koechlin is an independent film producer with over 38 years of experience in the industry.
In 2001, he co-founded Equity Pictures AG, formerly a leading German media fund based in Munich. During his five-year tenure as Director of Production Development and Acquisition, the company financed and produced over 30 feature films, primarily in collaboration with Nu Image/Millennium Films.
Other partner companies were Alcon Entertainment, Capitol Films, The Stratus Film Group and Myriad Pictures. Production highlights include the following: The Black Dahlia, Hostage, 16 Blocks, The Matador, Lonely Hearts, Eulogy, One Missed Call, and The Chumscrubber.

Prior to forming Equity Pictures AG, Koechlin spent three years as Marketing Director for Columbia Tri-Star Germany, where he handled the release of such films as Hook, Terminator 2 – Judgment Day, Bugsy, Flatliners, Steel Magnolias, Glory, and Hudson Hawk. Previously, Koechlin was a free-lance marketing consultant for German and US distributors, in particular VCL Communications.
He also served as Marketing Manager for the renowned Orion Pictures International during its pinnacle period of success in the 1980s. During this time, he oversaw the release of hits including Hannah and Her Sisters, The Purple Rose Of Cairo, Desperately Seeking Susan, Silence Of The Lambs, The Addams Family and At Close Range.
Other positions held by Koechlin include Marketing Manager for the respected independent German distributor, Senator Film, and Marketing Director for CBC-Fox Video.
Koechlin started his film career in 1971 as a production manager for various production companies in Canada. He is now an independent producer; currently developing several feature film and television projects.
He is a 1967 alumnus of the Ontario College of Art.
He resides in the Cologne Area, Germany.
