General info :
Bonnie Timmerman (born Manhattan, New York, USA) is one of Hollywood's most successful, and reportedly highest-paid, casting directors.
She began her career with Manhattan's Phoenix Repertory Company in the 1970s, casting then up-and-comers, Glenn Close, Meryl Streep, John Lithgow, Christopher Walken, Jill Eikenberry and Swoosie Kurtz.
She has since gone on to cast dozens of films, including Amadeus, Glengary Glen Ross and Armageddon.
She's cast Sean Penn in Fast Times at Ridgemont High; Ralph Macchio in The Karate Kid; Jennifer Grey in Dirty Dancing; Tim Robbins in Bull Durham; Ralph Fiennes in Quiz Show; Russell Crowe in The Insider; and Daniel Day-Lewis in The Last of the Mohicans.

Bonnie started her career working a low-end job off Broadway at the Phoenix Theater in the '70s when the theater owner asked her to go out and cast Wendy Wasserstein's play Uncommon Women and Others. She came back with newcomers Meryl Streep, Glenn Close, Swoosie Kurtz, and Jill Eikenberry.
Those plays were televised on PBS, and people like Francis Ford Coppola and producer Fred Roos and Michael Mann called her to work for them.
She then was given the huge job of casting Mann's classic 1980s TV show Miami Vice and would keep collaborating with Mann afterwards.
