Alex Stockman (born in 1962 in Hasselt, Belgium) is a Belgian film director, screenwriter, producer and translator.

In 1986 he obtained a graduate degree in Economic Translator French, English, German. He worked as a translator and as a rock and film critic for the weekly magazine Humo.

After a few short films, director-screenwriter Stockman makes his debut in 2001 with the feature film "Verboden te zuchten" (Forbidden to sigh). Pulsar followed ten years later. Together with Kaat Camerlynck and Françoise Hoste, he founded the film production house Corridor, which, in addition to Stockman's own films, also produced Bruxelles, mon amour (2001), Any Way the Wind Blows (2003) and Retour (2006).

He resides in Brussels, Belgium.
