General info :
Susan Toepfer (born 1947 or 1948) started her career as a journalist in New York’s Hometown Newspaper.
She started as a freelancer for the Daily News in the early 1970s.
Toepfer met her husband, Lorenzo Carcaterra, who wrote the book “Sleepers,” while they worked at The News together.
After leaving the paper as Executive Magazine Editor in 1987, she started at People magazine, where she climbed up the corporate ladder to Executive Editor.
After People she became Entertainment And Features Editor at More magazine.
She died after a battle with lung cancer in December 2013. She was 65.
