General info :
Christian Friedel (born 9 March 1979, Magdeburg, Germany) is a German musician and stage and film actor.

He studied at the Munich Otto Falckenberg School and then played at the Bavarian State Theater and at the Munich Kammerspiele. Later he became an ensemble member of the Schauspiel Hannover. For the season 2009/2010 Friedel moved to the Staatsschauspiel Dresden. When his contract ended in 2013, he was able to dedicate more time to his work as a musician. He still works with the Dresdner Ensemble as a guest actor.

In the film The White Ribbon - A German Children's Story, which was awarded the Golden Palm in Cannes in 2009 and received awards in ten categories of the German Film Awards in 2010, Christian Friedel played one of the leading roles, the village teacher.

As a musician (piano, voice, composition) he published an EP in 2011. In June 2011 he founded together with four musicians of the band Polarkreis 18 the band Woods of Birnam, whose debut album was released on 7 November 2014.

In December 2016, the production "Searching for William" with Woods of Birnam premiered at the Staatsschauspiel Dresden.
