General info :
Buccellati is the brand name of a jewelry business launched in 1971 by Gianmaria Buccellati (born 21 May 1929, Milan, Italy - died 28 March 2015, Turin, Italy (aged 85)), one of the five brothers of goldsmith Mario Buccellati, who started a separate business from his brothers and father after his death in 1965. In 2011 they came to an agreement and the name was shortened to Buccellati after a merger into Buccellati Holding Italia SpA. In December 2016, China's Gansu Gangtai Holding Group bought a controlling 85% share in Buccellati. In September 2019, Compagnie Financière Richemont acquired 100% of Buccellati from Gangtai. In the same year, the Maison celebrated its hundredth anniversary since its foundation that took place in 1919 with the opening of the first boutique in Milan, Largo Santa Margherita, next to the famous La Scala Theatre. The acquisition did not have an impact on Richemont's operating results in that fiscal year.
