Joseph C. Nemec III (born in 1948 in Little Rock, Arkansas, USA) is a production designer.
Select credits include Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991), Twister (1996) and Riddick (2013).

The son of Bohemian immigrants he studied architecture at the University of Arkansas and then worked as a production design assistant on television in the 1970s. In 1980 he helped for the first time with production design of a movie, the musical Xanadu. This was followed by several assistant production designer credits on several feature films, including the Steven Spielberg productions The Goonies and The Color Purple .

Since the mid-1980s, Nemec has regularly worked as a chief designer for Hollywood movie productions. In film, action and special effects was Nemec's central field of action.
In 1989, he received a small guest role in James Cameron's Abyss - Abyss of Death.
At the beginning of the 21st century, Nemec also built sets for horror, history and science fiction films, but also sporadically returned to television productions.

His son is the actor Corin Nemec .
