BMG Records (UK) Ltd. was the UK subsidiary of Bertelsmann Music Group (abbreviated as BMG), itself a division of German media company Bertelsmann before its completion of sale of the majority of its assets to Sony Corporation of America on 1 October 2008.

BMG Records (UK) Ltd. was thus named 01 Apr 1987 and later renamed to BMG ENTERTAINMENT INTERNATIONAL UK & IRELAND LIMITED on August 6th 1996.

The company already existed as EURODISC MUSIC GROUP LIMITED since December 1980, itself a merger of MBS FOUR LIMITED and BERTELSMANN MUSIC GROUP LIMITED in January 1980.




The company was renamed BMG UK & IRELAND LIMITED in 2002 and SONY BMG MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT (UK) LIMITED in 2004 until it was folded in 2009.
