General info :
RCV (Recorded Cinematographic Variety) was a brand name of RCV Entertainment BV, a Dutch independent film distributor located in Hilversum.
RCV Entertainment BV was founded in 1979 by Otger Merckelbach
RCV Entertainment BV released mainly DVDs and VHS tapes..
It was sold in 2008 to Canadian Entertainment One (eOne) and the name changed to Entertainment One Benelux BV.

By 1989 the market of rental videos become saturated. In order to continue to grow, the activities were broadened to "all-media" distribution (in addition to DVD rental, cinema distribution, DVD sales (sell thru) and the sale of the TV rights of the purchased films).
In 1997, 50% of the shares were sold to VNU. This share was extended to 100% in 1999.
In 1999 RCV Entertainment BV was sold to the Finnish publisher Sanoma.
In 2008 RCV Entertainment BV was sold to the Canadian entertainment company Entertainment One.
In 2009, RCV Entertainment BV was renamed Entertainment One Benelux BV.
